One of the Gold Coast’s brightest young solicitors, Dan Marino, has added another achievement to his growing list, just completing his Masters of Law at Bond University.
The accomplishment comes just months after Mr Marino - who specialises in tourism, hotels and property development law - was promoted to a partner of growing Gold Coast commercial law firm Hickey Lawyers.
Mr Marino juggled his client commitments at Hickey Lawyers with his studies while completing the Masters degree, in which he specialised in commercial and corporate law.
He already boasts a Bachelor of Law, Bachelor of Business (majoring in Accountancy) and a post-graduate diploma in legal practice in New South Wales, which allows him to practice cross-border.
He is also admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales, having spent two and a half years as a senior associate with prominent London-based firm Field Fisher Waterhouse.
Mr Marino, who first joined Hickey Lawyers as an articled clerk in 1999, said it was important in the ever-changing field of law to continually expand your technical knowledge base.
“New cases and changes to legislation are constantly altering the way we handle certain matters and, as such, you really need to stay abreast of any new issues to ensure precise legal advice is given to clients in specialised areas of the law,” he said.
Hickey Lawyers managing partner Tony Hickey said the firm featured a highly skilled team of solicitors.
“We encourage all our up-and-coming solicitors, such as Dan, to continually develop their skills to service sophisticated clients and complex legal matters,” he said.
